One of the things I made my mind up about early in life was to have ceramic tiles on the floor of my house. I had fallen in love with ceramic tiles long ago so I made up my mind that I would tile the floor of my house instead of using any other floor type. You also need to understand that you really do not require those chemicals you see on the shelf of the supermarket in order to clean your beautiful ceramic floor. The best bet is actually clean water which you have in abundance right there in your home. Another home mixture which you can conjure is a simple mixture of a cup of vinegar and a gallon of clean water. These should act on your floor.

Make sure that you sweep your floor regularly. This is regardless of the kind of ceramic; glazed or unglazed. For the sake of avoiding dirt build-up in any way, just ensure that a daily sweeping routine is adopted when caring for ceramic floors. You can use a vacuum cleaner as some of its accessories are used to gather the dirt that may have collected between the tiles.

The manufacturer usually recommends the kind of grout and cleaner to be used. It is advisable to follow their recommendations. Other than that, ensure that you clean with clean water.

Use mats such as floor mats. These help to gather much of the dust that accumulate under your leg wear as you walk around.

You need to understand that there are some types of materials which could gradually destroy the looks of the tiles. Harsh chemicals, scouring powders and even steel wool are a no go area while cleaning ceramic tile floors. These destroy the surface by scratching it. Oil based cleaners also do not go well with glazed tiles so this must be avoided.

You might want to move stuff like furniture from time to time. It is best to get many hands to assist you do this as you might scratch the surface of the tiles in the process and this should also be avoided.
